The MouthSoap In A Bubble™: Kanye West And Playboi Carti Are Latest Subjects Of AI Technology

New artificial intelligence technology has reached a new high — or low, depending on who you ask. A recent rollout of AI plug-in models surfaced on the Internet coming into 2023, giving internet surfers access to audio manipulation tech that can appropriate and alter anyone’s voice.

Since then, YouTubers have had a field day with trying on celebrity voices within different songs.  Thomas Skean is part of the trendy mayhem, producing various videos using AI with Kanye West’s voice and to create music videos.  

In one particular video, he matches West and Whole Lotta Red artist Playboi Carti’s voices to Gotye’s 2011 hit single “Somebody That I Used to Know,” featuring Kimbra.  The four-minute clip is accurate when it comes to West’s tone, but falls slightly short on Playboi Carti’s realistic pitch, tone, and delivery.  Still, the new technology proves to be eerily human.
