Label Owner Nicki Minaj Serves Double Trouble With Ice Spice On “Princess Diana (Remix)”

Nicki Minaj is owning 2023 with a vengeance.  Much of her evolution is in the form of equity and credit as she pursues challenges that provide upward mobility in her career.

After nearly two decades in the music industry, the “Super Freaky Girl” artist announced the launch of her new record label, recently named Heavy On It.

The news was followed by another development in which she has been cast as the lead star in the upcoming animated series, Lady Danger, based on the Alex de Campi comic book series from Dark Horse.  Minaj will also executive produce, joining super producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson of G-Unit Film & Television and Black-ish executive producer Paul Young, along with the series’ writers Poz Roz creator Carlton Jordan and Queens executive producer Crystle Roberson.

Minaj’s glow up as she takes greater command of her career has been an ongoing topic of conversation.  She recently collaborated with budding rap star Ice Spice to do the remix of “Princess Diana,” a single from Ice Spice’s Like..? EP.

The collaboration sparked speculation that Ice Spice had signed to Minaj’s Heavy On It, but was quickly retracted when reliable sources revealed that Ice Spice was still signed to 10K Projects, a subsidiary of Capitol Records/Universal Music Group.

The official music video for “Princess Diana (Remix)” dropped April 14, immediately becoming the No. 1 trending video in music on YouTube.  The video features the two New York rappers prancing around a pink-theme room in scantily clad attire as they lyrically sear through the mesmerizing melody.

Ice Spice shoots through the stratosphere of freshman lady rappers that have popped on the scene in recent years as she delivers her culturally relevant lyrics while hypnotizing viewers with her beauty.  Minaj solidified her stance as the “Queen of Rap” with a goosebump-giving performance that snipes her critics and so-called competitors.
