Brandon T. Jackson Regrets Wearing Dress In Martin Lawrence Film

Actor and stand-up comedian Brandon T. Jackson, known for big box office films Percy Jackson & The Olympians, Tropic Thunder and Roll Bounce, went on to Comedy Hype to talk about his career.

He admits that when he decided to wear a dress in Martin Lawrence’s Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son his whole personal life crumbled.

“Everything went wrong when I put on that dress,” Jackson told Comedy Hype. “My personal life was in shambles, but my career was at its height.”

The actor even said that comedian Katt Williams tried to warn him to not wear the dress. Oddly enough, Jackson insists that compromising his beliefs and wearing the dress put out his “fire”.

“Once I put the dress on and I had that fire, the fire was put out and I only did it one time,” Jackson said. “So imagine doing it three times, four times. But, when Tyler Perry did it, he got stronger…My path, when I put on the dress, it came with a demon baby mama and a starter kit from hell. You haven’t seen me since.”

Released in February 2011, the action comedy ranked No. 5 opening weekend, making an overall $37.9 million domestically and grossing a total of $83 million worldwide.

Jackson’s movie career has been pretty consistent. On average, he has managed to make a minimum of two films a year with a few exceptions. However, most of his roles have been in independent films.

Jackson is currently working on his new independent film Trap City, which is in pre-production.
