YSL’s Young Thug And Gunna Emerge On IG Live Doing Whipits, Fans Not Feeling It

It has many names, including hippy crack and nangs, but most people who do it call it whippits, whippets or whipits. Atlanta rapper Gunna jumped on IG live and could be seen huffing for a few seconds before logging off.

While it seemed that he was trying to be trendy, it appeared his fanbase was more concerned with him becoming addicted to the “Walmart drug.” At 26 years old, many wondered why someone of Gunna’s stature would pick up a teenage habit, especially since he has access to marijuana, allegedly. Young Thug has also been seen on IG doing whipits, as well.

An old trend in the UK but fairly new to the U.S., Whipits is an affordable and easy way to consume nitrous oxide often found in whipped cream dispensers. At one point, teens would attempt to get high by inflating balloons with nitrous oxide from a dispenser and inhaling out of the balloon.

Overconsumption of nitrous oxide can result in irregular heart beats, seizures, brain damage, lung damage and in extreme cases, death if combined with other drugs or over-the-counter drugs.

It’s also addictive. Many people had to go to rehab to stave off their addiction to nitrous oxide.

Gunna just released a stunning sophomore album with WUNNA to great praise from the hip hop community. The album is expected to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard charts.

Hopefully, this deaded and desperate attempt to get high will not pick up again all because Atlanta rappers are just now discovering it and pushing it to their fans.
