Winnie The Pooh In A Slasher Film? ‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey’ Has An Official Trailer

We can officially say we’ve seen it all. The beloved childhood classic, Winnie the Pooh, has been transformed into a horror flick. Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey first created buzz in early summer by way of director Rhys Frake-Waterfield, and a mock trailer made by a fan anticipating the film’s release. Watch the Fan Trailer Below:

While an official release date has yet to be announced, a trailer has dropped just a few weeks ahead of the holiday season. Written by Frake-Waterfield and based on characters created by A.A. Milne, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey chronicles the rage of Pooh Bear and Piglet as they seek revenge for being abandoned by Christopher Robin, if you recall, a dear friend.

The peculiar trailer peaks interest with its bizarre interpretation of the inviting bear. Set in Pooh’s habitat, the 100 Acre wood, a sign shows the resting place of the slothful Eeyore. Later, a group of what appears to be unaware sorority girls are terrorized by two Piglets and Pooh at a nearby vacation home.

Tigger appears to not be present in the film, possibly as a result of copyright limitations. Pooh and Piglet, the main characters from the childhood classic, don’t share the same protections as new entries in the public domain.

The independent film, reported to have been shot in 10 days, may be a draw to theaters and streaming platforms around Halloween when people are looking for fun flicks to go with their buzzed nights. However, the trailer notes are showing that the film will be released to video-on-demand and DVD.

The film contains several horror and sci-fi talent, starring May Kelly (Alice, Through the Looking), Amber Doig-Thorne (The Seven), Natasha Tosini (Quarantine Leap), Craig David Dowsett (Alien Abduction) as Pooh Bear, and Chris Cordell (I Killed Solomon Reid) as Piglet.

Waterfield produces alongside Scott Jeffrey of Jagged Edge Productions. ITN Films is handling distribution, teaming up with Premiere Entertainment Group for sales.
