Erich Mrak Complements His Music Mastery With Cinematic Visual ‘See You In September’

Experimental hip hop artist Erich Mrak thrills fans with a new cinematic visual of his new project See You In September.

Directed, shot and edited by Maxym Perron and co-directed by Kenya Walters, the visual features two songs from the Toronto artist, “Navigate” and “Riptide”, both written by Mrak and his in-house producer Bento.

“Navigate”, a vocally grand but somber song, complements the grayish melancholy of the visual. A perfect title for the essence of the film as the man seems to be anxious about his presence in the world.

Aerial shots of calming waters and a vividly green forest flickers to a young man, played by actor Will Verreault Milner, frantically looking at his surroundings. Within moments, he stands on the edge of a patio rail overlooking a skyline.

“Navigate” is followed by the endearing “Riptide”, an emotionally compelling plea to love and life. A certain feeling of brokenness exudes from the visual as the actor appears to be emotionally drained and down.

Full of dark colors, scenes show the man going through his day to day, working at what appears to be a restaurant.

Frustrated with life, the visual abruptly ends with the man running through the street, making his final impression on the world he leaves behind by taking one more look back.

Reminiscent of Post Malone and Mac Miller, See You In September is the perfect post-Valentine, pre-summer music experience serving an audibly palatable and vulnerable side to Mrak.

A multi-talented artist, Mrak writes, produces and records. His discography includes a series of successful single releases including “Float”, “Think About It” and “Summer Dealer”.
