We’ve All Been Waiting For It, Reunion Trailer For ‘The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air’ Drops

Months after a photo surfaced on the Internet showing the cast of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air together, the official trailer for the long-awaited reunion dropped early on Friday, Nov. 13. Lead actor of the 1990s sitcom, Will Smith, kicks off the nostalgic two-minute clip in which he films himself in an impromptu video.

The reunion is 30 years in the making and includes the entire cast, with the exception of the late James Avery. A portion of the trailer shows the cast discussing Avery’s impact on the show, while highlighting one of the most beloved moments from episode 24 of the fourth season, “Papa’s Got A Brand New Excuse.”

Cast members Alfonso Ribeiro, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Karyn Parsons, Tatyana Ali, Joseph Marcell, and Daphne Maxwell Reid all make appearances. A surprise appearance is made by actress Janet Hubert who played the matriarch for 74 episodes before Reid stepped in the role.

Created by Andy Borowitz and Susan Borowitz, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air ran for six seasons from 1990 through 1996, amounting to 148 episodes. The show followed the life of street-smart Philadelphia teen, Will, as he navigates his new home with his rich relatives, the Banks family, in Bel-Air. Viewers around the world continue to watch the half-hour sitcom in its syndication.

The reunion will stream Nov. 19 on HBO Max.
