‘Sister Act 3’ Star, Keke Palmer, Stepping Into Next Phase Of Adulthood As A New Mother

There comes a time when we all must grow up.  That becomes even more apparent when the young kid stars we used to live vicariously through evolve into adults taking on very grown people things, such as mortgages, marriage, and parenting.  Keke Palmer joins the list of child actors who are now embracing the latter.

During a SNL monologue on Dec. 3, the Nope actress announced that she and her boyfriend, Darius Jackson, are expecting.

“There’s some rumors going around, people have been in my comments saying, ‘Keke’s having a baby, Keke’s pregnant,’” An excited Palmer said.  “I wanna set the record straight — I am!”

Palmer, 29, then proceeded to unveil a bare pregnant belly by opening her floor-length muted cacao coat as the audience cheered her on.  Jackson also celebrated the announcement on Instagram posting, “ 2023 ❤️.”

The couple first made headlines in 2021 after Jackson posted about their budding relationship during Palmer’s August birthday.  Palmer met the fitness instructor while attending a Memorial party through an introduction by Jackson’s brother, actor Sarunas J. Jackson, who acted alongside Palmer on the television series Insecure.

The whirlwind romance has been a highlight for Palmer, who celebrated the release of Jordan Peele’s sci-fi thriller Nope this year and is prepping for the highly anticipated third installment of the Whoopi Goldberg comedy, Sister Act. Tim Federle is already set to direct, with Kathy Najimy, Wendy Makkena, and Jenifer Lewis attached to the cast. Tyler Perry is aboard as a co-producer.

In wrapping up her monologue, the bubbly Virgo admitted that she was trying to keep the pregnancy under wraps for professional reasons, but leave it to the “Innanet” to blow a secret.

Palmer added, “It is bad when people on the internet spread rumors about you, y’all, but it’s even worse when they’re correct!  I was trying so hard to keep it on the down low because I got a lot of stuff going on.“

Congrats to the couple!
