Grand Opening, Grand Closing: DaniLeigh Lays Toxicity To Rest With Slow Burner Single “Dead To Me” From ‘My Side’ EP

Everyone has their foolish moment when it comes to love. Some of us aren’t so lucky to go through those growing pains without the whole world watching. DaniLeigh, 27, has learned how cruel and cold the world can be and she’s sharing her experience with music listeners on her new sultry single “Dead To Me” from the upcoming EP My Side.

The ever-so bubbly personality shows another side in her creativity with the traditional R&B track. In the two-minute song, she declares that her former lover is no longer a factor in her life. But, she doesn’t do this without first flexin’ on the dud.

She sings, “Mama never liked your a–, brother want to fight your a–, daddy hate your trifling a–.” She even throws in a little humor by saying her dog even wanted to bite his a–. Goodness.

To top that, she gives us more insight to the toxic relationship that had her “breaking dishes.” The main culprit being a cheating partner, DaniLeigh comes to terms that the person she loved is full of excuses and not the right fit for the vision she has for her life. Good riddance.

Still, she can’t help but to feel a bit disturbed that she allowed herself to be played with. But, for every grand opening, there’s a grand closing and “Dead To Me” is the perfect closure song to a toxic relationship. As Lauryn Hill once said, “You might win some, but you just lost one.”
