Extended Trailer Reveals A Little More Of Regina King’s Directorial Debut ‘One Night In Miami…’

Inspired by the true meeting of the minds of some of history’s most polarizing public figures in 1960s America, One Night In Miami recaptures the dynamic relationship between music artist Sam Cooke, pro football player Jim Brown, heavyweight boxer Muhammad Ali, and activist Malcolm X.

Taking place during the Civil Rights era, the pic shows the buddies meet up at a hotel in Miami after a notorious boxing match in which Ali faces Sonny Liston. Kemp Powers of Star Trek: Discovery fame penned the script.

The cast includes a stellar lineup. Canadian actor Eli Goree (Riverdale, Ballers) is Cassius Clay, Peaky Blinders’ Kingsley Ben-Adir portrays Malcolm X, Aldis Hodge (What Men Want) plays Jim Brown, and Leslie Odom Jr. (Harriet) is Sam Cooke.

Originally set for a Christmas Day release, the pic had to be pushed back to Jan. 15 because of the restrictions of COVID-19. Movie watchers will be able to see the film at select theaters in open states or on Amazon Prime.
