Disney Studios Treats Audiences With Behind-The-Scenes Footage Of ‘The Little Mermaid’

A mini tease from Disney Studios provides a brief glimpse of what to expect from the highly anticipated film The Little Mermaid

The Little Mermaid is the story of a courageous young mermaid named Ariel with the gift of singing who desires to experience life above the sea.  Upon falling for a dapper Prince Eric, Ariel makes a dangerous deal with the witch of the sea, Ursula, in order to live life as a human.

The live action reimagining, starring singer Halle Bailey as Ariel, Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, Daveed Diggs as Sebastian, Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, and Awkafina as Scuttle, takes viewers behind-the-scenes to show the extent of arduous, but lighthearted training the cast endured in the making of the classic.

The near two-minute clip shows hilarious inserts from Awkwafina, along with an orchestra-assisted rendition of the film’s popular theme song, “Part Of Your World.”

Spectacular images under the sea, great voice acting, and emotionally gripping music make for one big treat for nostalgic millennials, parents of millennials, and now the children of millennials to enjoy!

Rob Marshall (Chicago) directs the pic written by David Magee (Life of Pi).  Lin-Manuel Miranda provided new lyrics to the original music created by Alan Menken with original lyrics written by Howard Ashman.

The Little Mermaid opens in theaters May 26.
