Deb Antney Shares Her Experience As An Independent Female Music Executive In Hip Hop

Her story is hip hop history. Legend Deb Antney is known for her raspy voice, her matching honey-colored eyes and hair, and voluminous physique that commands attention, but she earned her stripes as a mover and shaker in the music industry.

Championing hip hop legends, such as Gucci Mane, Nicki Minaj, and Waka Flocka, became her legacy, and even if you didn’t really know about the New York native, her name reigned in her current city, Atlanta, and throughout the Bible Belt.

Her reputation proceeded her. Now, she’s ready to tell her story in her own words. Deb Antney joined host Math Hoffa on his talk platform, My Expert Opinion, to share her harrowing experiences navigating life and business as a young, Black mother raised in the hood.

She clears up misconceptions about her, her relationships with Gucci Mane and Nicki Minaj, brushes with the law, and her second career as a social worked and philanthropist. Antney also has something to say about the current state of hip hop and female rap — it’s not pretty.

The episode is available now on Math Hoffa’s YouTube channel, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and SoundCloud. Check it out below.
