On the heels of releasing his fifth studio album Beyond Bulletproof, Sacramento rapper Mozzy, born Timothy Patterson, dropped a visual tease with Beyond Bulletproof: The Documentary.
In the doc, enthusiastic fans are thrilled to see the rapper around town shopping and giving back. The rising rapper sets up a function at Oak Park in Sacramento, where he delivers gifts to the people of the community. He also takes a trip to Los Angeles’ Skid Row, where he gives out free items to the homeless.
He ends the documentary with one of the dopest songs off of Beyond Bulletproof listed on track 10 called “The Homies Wanna Know”.
The song produced by JabariOnTheBeat reveals why Mozzy has so much appeal. Genuine, authentic and down to Earth is what comes to mind.
Mozzy has been going at the rap game for a long time now. He first started rapping in 2004, but didn’t pursue the interest full-time until 2010.
He was able to make an impact regionally. Yet, with all the hard work, sweat and tears, he wouldn’t receive mainstream recognition until 2015 when he dropped the album Bladadah.
On Beyond Bulletproof, Mozzy delivers 13 tracks with guest features from G Herbo, King Von, Polo G, Eric Bellinger, BLXST, Lil’ Poppa, Shordie Shordie, E Mozzy and Celly Ru. The album has peaked at No. 18 on Billboard’s Top Rap Albums and No. 4 on the Independent Albums chart.
Mozzy is proving that the underdog is becoming the people’s champ. The future looks very bright.
