Santigold Sends Out Transparent Letter To Fans Regarding Cancelled Holified Tour: “Will Not Continue To Sacrifice Myself”

Santigold has officially cancelled The Holified Tour. In a transparent message to her fans and ticket buyers, Santigold said the she was “both sad and proud” to announce her decision.

The tour was in promotion of her fourth studio album, Spirituals, released on Sept. 9. The 15-date tour was supposed to kick off on Oct. 3 at the Buckhead Theatre in Atlanta and travel to Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Las Vegas, to name a few. However, Santigold admits that “for many of us, the landscapes we are re-entering are not the same” after the immense challenges of the past few years.

The “High Priestess” elaborates on the state of the music industry, particularly in the area of live performance where artists are dealing with lack of income, inflation, saturation of artists, and disrupted scheduling due to positive tests.

“I’m coming to you with the honesty that is inherent in my music. How could I release Spirituals, an album about honoring yourself and refusing to cross your own boundaries, and not take this opportunity to do just that for myself?” Santigold laments. “I will not continue to sacrifice myself for an industry that has become unsustainable for, and uninterested in the welfare of the artists it is built upon.”

Tickets will be refunded and ticket holders will have exclusive access to a VIP membership, with a first-look at early releases, special merchandise, and exclusive experiences. Read the full letter below:

Spirituals is available now across music streaming platforms.
