‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,’ Warner Bros. Releases Official Teaser Trailer

The juice is loose! Michael Keaton reprises his role as the mischievous Beetlejuice in a sequel that took over 25 years to come together. The original film horrified audiences in a good way back in 1988 when it was first released. Warner Bros. rolled out an official teaser trailer of the dark comedy from Tim Burton (Edward Scissorhands), and fans from all over will be happy to know that not only is Keaton returning, but he will also be joined by a couple of familiar faces.

Winona Ryder (Stranger Things) returns as Lydia Deetz, alongside her film mother, Catherine O’Hara (Schitt$ Creek), who played Delia Deetz. Missing from the reunion is Alec Baldwin, of course, Geena Davis, and Jeffrey Jones. However, the cast welcomes newbies Justin Theroux (The Leftovers), Monica Bellucci (The Matrix), Arthur Conti (House of the Dragon), Jenna Ortega (Wednesday), and Willem Dafoe (Poor Things).

The haunting of Beetlejuice continues when Lydia, now a mother of her own rebellious teen, Astrid, returns to the Winter River home with her extended family. Just as Lydia did many ages ago, Astrid discovers the portal to Beetlejuice and the afterlife in the attic. The screenplay is written by Wednesday collaborators Alfred Gough & Miles Millar.

Haris Zambarloukos is director of photography.

Producers include Burton, Dede Gardner, David Geffen, Marc Toberoff, Jeremy Kleiner, and Tommy Harper. Executive producers include Brad Pitt, Pete Chiappetta, Sara Desmond, Katterli Frauenfelder, Alfred Gough, Seth Grahame-Smith, David Katzenberg, Miles Millar, and Larry Wilson.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice releases in theaters and IMAX nationwide on Sept. 6, 2024, before an international rollout starting on Sept. 4.
