Amazon Shells Out $25 Million For Rihanna Documentary

Everything that Rihanna touches turns to money and that was proven in her latest film deal with Amazon. The streaming service paid out a whopping $25 million to obtain the rights to an untitled Rihanna documentary directed by Peter Berg, according to THR.

Berg, who is also working on a documentary about Chris Cornell, has 29 directing credits, including Friday Night Lights, Lone Survivor, and Deepwater Horizon.

Berg obtained over 1,200 hours of footage examining Rihanna’s pop star life. Fans will get an in-depth sense of the singers life outside of the music industry.

The doc follows Rihanna as she manages her multi-million dollar businesses, cosmetics brand Fenty Beauty, fashion brand LVMH, and her non-profit foundation ventures.

The actor-turned-director had a chance to travel with Rihanna as she toured Europe. He also was able to capture the “Disturbia” star spending time with family members.

It is possible that fans will be able to get a glimpse of Rihanna’s love life, too. She’s been linked to Saudi billionaire Hassan Hameel.

An official release date has not been established, but the documentary is already in post production.
