XXXTENTACION And Lil Wayne Collab “School Shooters” Video Addresses Bullying

The estate of XXXTENTACION released the music video for his song “School Shooters” featuring Lil Wayne off of his last album Bad Vibes Forever.

Directed by Elf Rivera, the video is dedicated to Anthony Borges and the 17 victims of the Stoneman Douglas High School shootings that took place on Valentine’s Day 2018 in Parkland, Florida.

When XXXTENTACION was alive, he was greatly impacted by the shooting, which he references in some of his songs, most notably “Hope” off of his 2018 studio album ?.

Shortly after the shooting took place, the late rapper held a benefit concert in honor of the victims. He raised over $30,000, which he donated to Anthony Borges, a 15-year-old who was shot five times as he used his body to protect his classmates.

The anxiety-filled “School Shooters” video features a young white boy in middle America being bullied by other students at school. The boy envisions walking down the school corridor with an automatic weapon.

The police surround the school building as students run away from the boy. The video hits very close to home, but also takes the unconventional route of showing viewers the mindset and experience of a school shooter.

Even in his death, XXXTENTACION still has a message that we can all learn from.
