Watch The Exclusive Clip Of ‘Basketball Wives’ Season 9, Confirmed Release Date

Affording the fact that there is an entire pandemic hindering the progress of the entire entertainment industry, the reality television landscape has been pretty dry. Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Potomac has been carrying the entire Fall 2020 on its back.

Unfortunately, the return of The Real Housewives of Atlanta isn’t nothing to call home about. With the main entertainment factor now vacant from the show (yes, Nene Leakes), viewers are being bombarded with boring storylines that seem to be repetitive from seasons ago.

So, it was no surprise that people were ecstatic when VH1 announced that season 9 of the beloved Basketball Wives would be premiering in early February, just in time for Black History Month. The premiere would mark over a year since the show aired — the reality TV series last aired from June to October 2019. An exclusive look released by VH1, Truly Original, Shed Media, and Shaunie O’Neal, all executive producers of the show, reveals that the cast will all be meeting at a mansion this season due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Returning cast members include Malaysia Pargo, Evelyn Lozada, Jackie Christie, Jennifer Willians, Ogom “OG” Chijindu, Kristen Scott, Feby Torres, Liza Morales, and sisters Nia and Noria Dorsey. Given the current state of the world, the women will incorporate discussions surrounding the rhetoric and action taken last year to combat racism, police brutality, and the Black Lives Matter movement.

Fans of the show are eager to see whether Lozada and Chijindu will make up from their infamous dispute that spilled over into social media and left Lozada with accusations of being racist. While it seems that the location of filming is quite beautiful and peaceful, leave it up to these ladies to find a way to create drama.

Basketball Wives will air Tuesday, February 9 at 7 p.m. CST on VH1.
