Trump Holds COVID-19 Press Conference, Closes Canada Border, Implements FEMA Aid

Donald Trump held a press conference with the Coronavirus Task Force at the White House early on Wednesday morning. The conference comes as all 50 states now have cases of the virus.

Trump is in the process of preparing two areas where coronavirus patients can get treatment. In addition, he is imploring level 1 of FEMA to provide federal support to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in response to the nationwide emergency for COVID-19.

The president plans to meet with medical professionals later on Wednesday to discuss ways to combat the virus.

In relation to housing, Trump declared that all foreclosures and evictions will be postponed until the end of April.

The northern border to Canada will be closed to all non-essential travel, not including goods.

The congressional Republicans are working on an emergency stimulus package of reportedly two $1,000 checks to go to U.S. households, as well as $300 billion towards small businesses to avoid an inevitable recession, and possibly another great depression.

The Trump Administration is asking people to follow the 15-day presidential guidance to combat coronavirus, which include instructions to stay at home if you feel sick, are an older person, tested positive for coronavirus or have an underlying health condition.

Social gatherings have been limited to a maximum of 10 people. Outdoor eating is now only available by delivery, pickup or drive-thru. People are also being advised to practice good hygiene to avoid the spread of the virus.
