The MouthSoap Playlist: Female Artists Blaze The Trending Lists With New Music

The ladies of hip hop and R&B are steady working in spite of all the attention going to male artists, such as Fetty Wap, Kid Cudi, Lil Loaded and Jack Harlow, just to name a few. Here are the female music artists currently trending on The MouthSoap Playlist:

Lakeyah – “Female Goat” ft City Girls

“They like, ‘Lakeyah why they sleeping on you so hard?'” The MouthSoap has the same question. Lakeyah is undeniably talented, bringing to the realm of hip hop a female perspective that’s different from most. She’s not turned out yet with the overly exposed, sex-focused image (although her lyrics are a different story), but she makes a b—h feel empowered, and that alone sets her a part from others. On “Female Goat,” she uses the sound most associated with the fast-paced rap style of the midwest, refreshing considering not too many females delve in that sub-genre of hip hop, which has been saturated with Detroit rappers.

Rico Nasty – “STFU” Performance Shots (Part 1)

The new single by Rico Nasty, “STFU,” off of her new album Nightmare Vacation brings back so much nostalgia of the days when Rolling Loud Festivals were at crowded venues and rappers like XXXtentacion and Ski Mask The Slump God were ruling the ‘Netwaves. Hardcore, decisive and fun, Rico Nasty delivers exactly the vibe we need in such a tone deaf society. Even better, Lizzo makes a special surprise cameo in the video screaming “Shut The F— Up!” And we love it.

Mulatto – “Sex Lies” ft. Lil Baby

The former Rap Game femcee turns the notch up with news headliner Lil Baby for a seductively, slow pace collabo. Certainly, as she repeats over and over in the Josephine Baker inspired visual, it’s a vibe.

Mila J – Holiday Freak Sh–

Mila J released a new visual for her single “Holiday Freak Sh–” and it is certainly a raunchy ode to the Christmas season. The always beautiful Mila J, who is the sibling to Jhene Aiko, gives great cam as she switches up several outfits. As for the song itself, it’s at least worthy of an add to a sexy R&B playlist.

Kamaiyah – Art Of War

On the cusp of releasing her new album No Explanation on Friday, Kamaiyah dropped the visual for “Art Of War,” delivering straight lyricism and classic hip hop. For those who thought hip hop was dead, the female rapper is well on her way to disproving that.

We didn’t get visuals, but Tay Money and BIA both dropped official audio for singles from their new albums, Blockedt and FOR CERTAIN, respectively. Both ladies are tough on the beat and stirring buzz on the hip hop scene. Stay tapped in!

Tay Money – Ugh

BIA – WHOLE LOTTA MONEY
