Sad Turn Of Events…PnB Rock Dies After Being Robbed At Gunpoint In L.A. [Updated]

“Luv Me Again” artist, PnB Rock, was shot while patronizing a Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles in Los Angeles. The incident allegedly occurred as a result of a botched robbery, although PnB Rock was the only targeted customer. He did not survive and was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. He was 30 years old.

The shooter or shooters involved are still at large. However, LAPD has confirmed that there may be surveillance from the restaurant that can help with the case.

A video circulating on Twitter apparently showed the aftermath of the graphic attack, where the young artist laid on the restaurant floor while bleeding out. The video also showed PnB Rock extending his arm for help as slow-moving restaurant employees approach him.

PnB Rock was allegedly rushed (although it appeared to be several minutes before he received any help) to a nearby hospital where he is currently in critical condition.

His girlfriend and the mother of his two children, Steph Sibounheuang, was allegedly with him before the shooting when she made the ultimate mistake for any public figure. She published a photo of their location on her Instagram handle @stephsibounheuang while they were still at the restaurant, and shortly after the post, an unknown assailant confronted PnB Rock, shooting him and taking his diamond chains.

One of the Philly native’s last posts on Twitter was published at 9 AM PST on Monday, Sept. 12, hours before the 911 call was made regarding his shooting in the afternoon.

PnB, born Rakim Hasheem Allen, established a solid music career as one of the artists with the rare talent of successfully integrating rap and R&B, working with everyone from Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne to Gucci Mane and Wiz Khalifa.

Most notably, he has collaborated with many of hip hop’s fallen soldiers. He joined forces with late rapper XXXTentacion, who died by gun violence in a 2018 robbery, several times, including being featured on the title track of XXXTentacion’s posthumous album, Bad Vibes Forever.

He also collaborated with the late Pop Smoke on the 2020 single “Like Me” from the album, Meet the Woo 2, “Backseat” from Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon, and featured King Von on his 2021 single, “Rose Gold.” Both Pop Smoke, who was allegedly set up while staying at a Hollywood Hills estate, and King Von met their untimely demise by gun violence.

PnB Rock’s last studio album was the 12-track project, SoundCloud Daze, released on January 28, 2022 under the major label, Atlantic.

Rest in peace to yet another hip hop family member. Sheesh.
