YouTuber Turned Late Night Talk Host Lilly Singh Is A Real “Bawse”

The rapping YouTuber Lilly Singh, also known as IISuperwomanII, made her impact on the entertainment industry flipping her YouTube digital shows into a money-making business empire and a “real” career in Hollywood.

The 31-year-old often talks about how she threw away thousands of dollars on college, only to graduate and make YouTube videos. Now with 14.9 million subscribers and a net worth of over $10 million, Singh is the reason why parents can relax when their child says that they want to be a YouTuber when they grow up.

Singh is the executive producer and host of her own late night talk show A Little Late with Lilly Singh. She inked a deal with NBC earlier in the year, joining a very exclusive and small list of female host entertainers, a great feat in the world of male-dominated late night talk shows.

The show debuted on September 16.

Her show features comedy bits, interviews with celebrities, and different segments that range from millennial funerals to dance games.

Singh’s show comes as a replacement for Carson Daly’s Last Call with Carson Daly.

“An Indian-Canadian woman with her own late night show?” Singh said in a statement. “Now that is a dream come true. I’m thrilled to bring it to life on NBC…I hope my parents consider this to be as exciting as a grandchild.”

Hailing from Canada, Singh was born on September 26, 1988 to Indian Canadian parents. Unconventional, unfiltered and unapologetic, Singh says what she wants and doesn’t even hint at being intimidated by the boys club. Her style of entertainment is youthful and representative of a brazen “bawse” of the millennial pack.

Singh is the author of How To Be A Bawse: A Guide To Conquering Life, a New York Times bestseller.

With a total of 21 acting credits, she has starred in films Bad Moms, Ice Age: Collision Course, and Fahrenheit 451.

Stay tuned to this rising talent. She is definitely making an impact for women and women of color in the world of entertainment business.

A Little Late with Lilly Singh airs weeknights at 1:35 a.m. PST on NBC.
