Kanye West Spotted Back In Houston At Montrose Museum Amid Astroworld Festival

Houston is poppin’ with celebrity appearances as Travis Scott’s Astroworld festival is in full effect. One person in the mix is Ye, aka Kanye West. The Donda rapper visited the Menil Collection on popular hangout street Montrose. A post from the art museum showed West taking photos by contemporary art pieces, such as the brightly colored 2014 artwork titled Theaster Gates’s “Hose for Fire and Other Tragic Encounters.”

“We routinely attract visitors from around the world, and were delighted to welcome Kanye West yesterday evening for a tour of our main building,” said The Menil Collection in a statement. “He seemed inspired by the artwork on view in the museum’s galleries.”

West’s visit to the Houston museum has sparked speculation that he may do a surprise appearance at the third annual AstroWorld music festival. It wouldn’t be far-fetched. The festival is one of the largest events currently taking place in the city, attracting nearly the population of a public university to the celebration of hip hop.

This wouldn’t be the first time that West has made a splash in H-Town. Back in 2019, the “Hurricane” rapper expanded his spiritual journey by visiting non-denominational church Lakewood Church, where Joel Osteen is head pastor.

“It’s fun to worship God and be of service to him, and watch him handle all these things in your life and to pray, to pray about things we would have normally worried about,” West said at the time.
