Issa Rae And Kumail Nanjiani Comedy ‘The Lovebirds’ Releasing On Netflix In May Amid Social Distancing Orders

Netflix announced that the Issa Rae (The Photograph, Little) and Kumail Nanjiani (Stuber, The Big Sick) film The Lovebirds will now be releasing on the streaming service May 22.

The Paramount Pictures film was originally supposed to come out at movie theaters on April 3rd, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 “Stay-At-Home” and social distancing orders.

Penned by Aaron Abrams, Brendan Gall and Martin Gero, The Lovebirds is an action comedy about a couple who was living their best lives when all of a sudden they find themselves accidentally involved in a murder mystery.

The Michael Showalter directed film stars Kyle Bornheimer (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect 3), Andrene Ward-Hammond (Just Mercy), and Jaren Mitchell (Queen Sugar). Production houses 3 Arts Entertainment, Media Rights Capital (MRC) and Quinn’s House collaborated on the action packed project.
