Hulu’s ‘This Fool’: “The Life Expectancy Of A Gangster, 24 Years Old — The Life Expectancy Of A Punk A** B****, 76 Years Old”

Hulu’s Original new comedy series, This Fool, had me at former gangbangers setting their intentions to the soundtrack of Irish vocalist Enya. The laughs are endless in the half-hour comedy based on the life and times of stand-up comedian Chris Estrada.

This Fool follows Julio Lopez, an employee at a gang rehabilitation non-profit called Hugs Not Thugs, as he navigates life in South Central Los Angeles as a known square, or for lack of a better phrase, punk-a** b****. When his cousin, Luis, is released from prison, Julio clashes with his reckless lifestyle preferences.

The official trailer shows a scene in which Julio speaks on the benefits of changing his life for the better, including dental care, trade classes, and jobs. He states, “The life expectancy of a gangster, 24 years old. The life expectancy of a punk-a** b****, 76 years old.” The first season contains 10 episodes that are all set to debut on August 12th

The comedy stars Estrada as Julio, Frankie Quinones as Luis, Laura Patalano (Gentefied), Michelle Ortiz (B Positive), Julia Vera (Mayans M.C.), and Michael Imperioli (Blue Bloods).
