Review: ‘Real Housewives of Potomac’ Ramps Up New Season With Spicy Episode Full Of OMG Moments

“Damn, damn, damn!” The three perfect words that Good Times matriarch Florida Evans would say upon being exposed to the ratchetness of Sunday night reality television. Nothing epitomized the feeling more than the middle-aged, messy drama of Bravo’s Real Housewives of Potomac. For one hour and 15 minutes, viewers were exposed to cringeworthy moments with Gizelle Bryant attempting to give boy advice to her three beautiful daughters and OMG moments from Karen Huger and Wendy Osefo.

For once in the franchise, Candiace Dillard Bassett was not the controversial figure slanging all the tea. In fact, she kept it cute playing mother to her stepchildren and pursuing her acting and singing career head on, while obtaining a MBA from Howard University. Also, the wealth wears new on her as she continues to flaunt her handsomely spacious new home. Whew, chile!

But, Karen, in all her Grande Dameness, has reverted to her alter ego…the domineering, fussy White Karen. After Gizelle called her out, Karen was not playing when it came to her frenemy’s “hot box” and time at “Sing Sing” — further investigation revealed that Sing Sing is a prison known for its overuse of the electric chair beginning way back in 1891. Later, Karen basically admitted that she was just talking trash and had absolutely no breaking news on her blue-eyed nemesis.

New castmate Mia Thorton trotted onto the scene as an open book, revealing all her plastic surgery trysts and unapologetic romance to a man 30 years her senior (we think), all in a matter of seconds. Not only that, homegirl has a spicy background that includes coming up in foster care and working at a strip club as a bartender before meeting her sponsor…we mean, the father of her children (no shade). From the jump, Mia and Wendy came across competitive as they threw out sly comments and shady looks to each other.

Once again, Wendy was a “try-hard” as she desperately sought praise and validation from the other ladies for her new and improved body. Like most rich and famous people that subscribe to being youthful forever, Wendy took the opportunity to get a whole bunch of surgical procedures over the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown. She slimmed down her waist and upgraded her bottom with a Brazillian Butt Lift (BBL), tightened the boobies, and even refreshed her face with a few “tweaks.” All in all, she does look fabulous, yet the surgeon did us no favor, leaving her entire blasé attitude in place.

We can’t give it all away, but between Karen, Mia, and Wendy, the other ladies (Ashley, Candiace, and Robyn) appeared to be walks in the park or what Wendy would say, “Zen.” Those who tune in, waiting for a train wreck to happen, not only did it happen in episode 2 of season 6, but it took the whole entire railroad track with it!

Real Housewives of Potomac airs every Sunday on Bravo and you better believe we will be tuning in, hunty!
