Drake’s OVO x Texas Longhorns And Kentucky Wildcats Collections Sell Out In First Few Hours, Restock Underway

Drake’s OVO college sports collection kicked off to an impressive start. The NCAA approved line sold out within a matter of hours upon its release on Friday (Sept. 28) morning, to the dismay of several customers.

OVO Prepared To Restock

No need to worry. The OVO team promptly replenished the stock of most items within the third hour of the clothing being featured on the Octobers Very Own website. Initial rollout of the Fall 2023 line included exclusive items for the Alabama Crimson Tide, Kentucky Wildcats, Memphis Tigers, North Carolina Tar Heels, and, of course, the Texas Longhorns.

What’s In The Collection

Each college is attributed a 5-piece set with their own version of basketball shorts, sportcap, t-shirt, hoodie, and fleece varsity jacket. Clothing pieces contain designs of the university’s logo and tagline, along with the signature OVO owl. The sportcap and t-shirt have the lowest retail price at $68, while the varsity jacket costs the most at $328.

Possible Reason Demand Is High For One Team

Out of all the collections, Texas and Kentucky stood out as the gear highest in demand. Both collections sold out of the sportcap, shorts, hoodie, and jacket in the first two hours of being listed.

It makes sense for the Longhorns to have this much popularity. At the moment, the University of Texas at Austin football team ranks No. 3 in the Big 12.

Texas kicked off the 2023 football season with a winning streak that currently stands at 4-0 (stat as of Sept. 29), a noticeable improvement from the 2-2 record the team held during the same time last year. So far, the Longhorns has come out victorious against the Rice Owls, Alabama Crimson Tide, Wyoming Cowboys, and Baylor Bears.

Texas Longhorns Giving 2005-2006 Vibes

Many would say that the way the burnt orange team has been playing as of late is reminiscent of the glory days of 2005. Led by legendary head coach Mack Brown and the phenomenal quarterback Vince Young, an undefeated Texas went on to win the Rose Bowl Championship against the USC Trojans in an unforgettable game that ended 41-38.

As an alum, cheers to a repeat of one of the best years in Texas Longhorn history. Hook ‘Em Horns!
