Broadway Actress Ruthie Ann Miles Pregnant Two Years After Tragic Loss Of Daughter And Unborn Child

Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

Tony-winning actress Ruthie Ann Miles is expecting a new bundle with her husband Jonathan Blumenstein this Spring, according to a social media post she made on Saturday.

“We’d like to announce our very happy news,” the Broadway star posted. “We are expecting another child this spring!”

The happy news comes exactly two years after Miles lost two children, her 4-year-old daughter and unborn child, in a tragic car crash. Miles and her family were crossing a street in New York when a car ran the red light and struck them.

At the time of the accident, Miles was expecting to deliver her unborn child the couple named Sophia in a few weeks.

Miles continued, “Thank you especially to the many of you who supported us in the aftermath of the crash, continually lifter us up in prayer, doused us with Love, encouraged us, let us be & grieve these two years…and now rejoice with us in this new life.”

“We know Abigail Joy and Sophia would have loved being big sisters & are loving watching their family grow,” posted Miles.

Miles is known for her role as Lady Thiang in Broadway’s The King and I. She won a Tony Award in 2015 for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for the role.

Congratulations to the family embarking on a new beginning!
