Blueface Says “LA is Fake”, Warns Visiting Rappers To Move With Caution After Death Of Pop Smoke

In the wake of the tragic shooting death of 20-year-old Brooklyn rapper Pop Smoke, Blueface has a message for rappers who are not from the land of angels.

“People think Cali/LA is beautiful sunny palm trees,” he posted on Instagram. “Nyggas die here every single day. I recommend any artist coming this way to get in touch wit the right natives just to keep you up to speed. Soon as you relax and think it’s cool this way, that’s when they strike.”

He continued, “A young immature dumb nygga might take what I said as “checking in” and if you do [tap in] wit a nygga who shows any signs of power or misconception cuz you hit him when you land then that is the WRONG native.”

Pop Smoke’s death is reminiscent of the March 1997 murder of Brooklyn legend Notorious B.I.G., born Christopher Wallace. He was only 24 years old when an unidentified man shot and killed him in a drive-by shooting after attending an industry party at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles.

Los Angeles has definitely earned a bad reputation for the death of rappers. The city has become known for killing their own.

The recent murder of Nipsey Hussle, 33, has shined a light once again on the issues surrounding rappers who are associated with gangs or simply became the target of envious haters.

In 2011, Cali Swag District rap group member Mante “M-Bone” Talbert was killed in a drive-by shooting while sitting in his car in Inglewood. He was 22.

Blueface, a member of the School Yard Crips gang, is very aware of the dangers of the city.

“My real point is LA is fake and if you not from here you open to more risk every place has its own way that the jungle operates and if you a lion you will never survive in the ocean without knowing any fish. Just giving the next artist some game tired of watching kings get killed by pawns.”

Pop Smoke was murdered inside a rented Hollywood Hills home on Feb. 19 when four masked men broke into the home at 4:30 AM and began shooting.

No arrests have been made in connection to the shooting.
