Aaliyah’s Legacy Still Lives On Twenty Years After Her Transition

Sometimes when you experience something that hurts you to the core you can’t even bring yourself to speak about it — at least, not for a while. It definitely felt like that when babygirl passed away.

Twenty years after Aaliyah Dana Haughton transitioned from this earth, along with her crew (Keith Wallace, Anthony Dodd, Christopher Maldonado, Gina Smith, Scott Gallin, and Eric Foreman), her fans are doing their part to keep her legacy alive.

It’s the most gratifying feeling that even when the physical body is gone, not even the biggest hater can stop that person’s energy from living on.

Two decades later, we remember Aaliyah for the smiles she put on our faces, the dance trends she inspired, the over-the-eye side bang, and that innocent, sultry voice that so often filled our speakers. Aaliyah is the embodiment of a star, from her career to her heart. Stay fly in peace, Aaliyah.
