‘Basketball Wives’ Renewed For Another Season, Angel Brinks, Brandi Maxiell, DJ Duffey Among Returning Cast

Despite a cringeworthy Season 9, VH1 has renewed the one-time fan favorite Basketball Wives for another season. The long-running reality series will star lone survivors Jackie Christie, Jennifer Williams, and Malaysia Pargo, while bringing back previous cast members Angel Brinks, Brandi Maxiell, Brittish Williams, Brooke Bailey, and DJ Duffey.

In an exclusive teaser, Shaunie O’Neal, the creator of the show, is briefly featured in a confessional scene. As she has done in the past, O’Neal’s appearances may be just as swift as the short teaser, especially since she now resides in Houston, Texas.

Meanwhile, there’s a lot of things brewing within the sisterhood. The remainder of the clip shows the reunion of the MVPs and their own personal dramas. Malaysia and Brandi come face-to-face to hash out their differences. Fashionista Angel Brinks is pregnant and thriving with her beau Love & Hip Hop Hollywood’s Roccstar.

New mother Duffey is contemplating leaving the DJ world to pursue a new career. Brittish, on the other hand, is dealing with legal issues.

Not included on the roster are Evelyn Lozada, Tami Roman, or O.G. Chijindu, who were all part of last season. As fans have recalled, Lozada and Chijindu were entangled in a serious brawl about colorism and bullying. The themes muddied the show and made it nearly unbearable to watch.

The cast refreshing is sure to draw viewers back, if not for the drama, at least for the tea on where some of the previous castmates have landed in life.

Season 10 of Basketball Wives is set to premiere May 16 as part of VH1’s Level Up Mondays. Watch the teaser below:
