YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s “Break Or Make Me” Trends At No. 1 On YouTube

YoungBoy Never Broke Again appears to be questioning God in the new LouieKnows directed music video for “Break Or Make Me” from his studio album Sincerely, Kentrell.

He raps, “Oh, tell me now | Is you tryna break me or you tryna make me something better off? | For sh– that I painted, for sh– that they see | For sh– that I live and the things that I breathe | They don’t want me to succeed, I still ain’t make it out | I see it all in my dreams (of me banging out).”

YoungBoy’s painful admission is music gold as the tough tune relishes at No. 1 in music on YouTube’s trending list. “Break Or Make Me” has accumulated 4.77 million views and 220,000 likes since its Sept. 23 debut on the platform. Meanwhile, YoungBoy is serving time in jail as he awaits a trial date for a firearm possession charge.

Ironically, news of his imprisonment has drawn more fans and even more music success. Easily the Mary J. Blige of hip hop for his ability to be vulnerable on record, YoungBoy has the opportunity to turn the tragic circumstances of his life into one of phenomenal triumph and evolution.

For now, YoungBoy’s story leaves us with a promising “To be continued…”
