Where There’s Smoke…Karen Civil Addresses Fraud Allegations During Clubhouse Gang Up That Includes Joyner Lucas, Jason Lee, And A Nipsey Hussle Associate

The hip hop world has been shaken to its core again with allegations of fraud against Karen Civil. Civil is known in the industry for her behind-the-scenes work in the branding and marketing arenas, helping the campaigns of everyone from Mac Miller to YG. However, some people not only have smoke for the longtime entrepreneur, but they are bringing her the fire.

Inspired by news of Jessie Woo winning a court case against Civil and some cryptic tweets from rapper Joyner Lucas, a Clubhouse room was created by Kita Trotter, a self-described Nipsey Hussle associate and artist manager, to discuss Civil’s alleged shady business practices.

The discourse started with concerns about how people from Nipsey Hussle’s community, the Crenshaw district in Los Angeles, were left out of his huge Staples Center funeral service in 2019, along with allegations that Civil claimed credit for things that she didn’t do. Civil quickly joined the conversation after receiving word that she was a focus on the social media platform. She faced the accusations head on, addressing each concern one by one.

Those concerns included a heated Jason Lee, owner of Hollywood Unlocked, who claimed that Civil paid a hacker thousands of dollars to have his media company’s Instagram page taken down over a story about her ripping off someone else. Civil admitted to getting her “hands dirty,” but said that she had already apologized to Jason Lee…

Joyner Lucas, who had been quietly listening to the whole conversation, spoke out about Civil charging him $60,000 for services that he was already providing for himself, including interviews, blog features, and miscellaneous fees for contracted work. However, he said that shortly after paying her, she would dodge his calls and proved to not be as transparent as he would’ve liked.

Later, rappers Meek Mill and Cam’ron posted their grievances with Civil on social media suggesting that they’ve been trying to inform people that Civil has questionable ways, but were accused of being haters.

Listen to the conversation yourself.

Civil responded by saying she would have private conversations with a few of those with grievances. She also said she enlisted the help of Charlamagne Tha God to resolve issues with Joyner Lucas.

The debate continues.
