Westbrook Studios And Peacock Tease ‘The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air’ Dramatic Reboot ‘Bel-Air’ [Video]

There’s one more reason to look forward to the upcoming 2022. The dramatic reboot of the 1990s family sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is set to be released next year, and quite frankly, we can’t wait! Starring newcomer Jabari Banks as the charmer Will, the reboot follows the West Philadelphia native in modern-day America as he navigates the grand life of his Bel-Air living relatives.

“Bel-Air will dive deeper into the inherent conflicts, emotions and biases that were impossible to fully explore in a 30-minute sitcom format, while still delivering swagger and nods to the original show,” a statement from Peacock said.

The cast will include Adrian Holmes (Skyscraper, 19-2) as Phillip Banks, Cassandra Freeman (The Last O.G., For Life) as Vivian Banks, Olly Sholotan (All American) as Carlton, Coco Jones (Vampires vs. the Bronx) as Hilary, Akira Akbar (Good Trouble) as Ashley, Jordan L. Jones (Rel) as Jazz, and Jimmy Akingbola (In the Long Run) as Geoffrey.

The new series is based on a 2019 YouTube concept trailer created by Morgan Cooper, who has a history of directing dope shorts such as U Shoot Videos?, State of America, and Room Tone.
