Fresh off of the second monumental debate between president Donald Trump and former vice president Joe Biden, “the ballot or the bullet” is still a harrowing crossroad for many “black and brown” voters.

Questions of whether or not the average American’s vote really matters lingers on as the leadership of the United States as we know it crumbles right before our eyes.  Because of this, it is the Hip Hop Caucus’ mission to be that persistent reminder of the power of voting.

The MouthSoap had an exclusive interview with Brandi “Bea” Williams, the National Organizer of the Respect My Vote! campaign for the Hip Hop Caucus, a non-profit and non-partisan organization that connects the Hip Hop community to the civic process.

In her role, Williams is an award-winning and accredited public relations professional that actively advocates for social justice, health equality, and voter awareness for youth and the Hip Hop community.

In the interview, she breaks down why it’s important to vote, defunding the police, the politics of hip hop, and other initiatives people should be concerned about, such as environmental injustice.

Check out the interview below and don’t forget to vote!
