Tex-Mex Favorite HomeState Launches New Food Program To Help Healthcare Workers

HomeState, rated the MouthSoap’s favorite Tex-Mex breakfast spot in Los Angeles, is launching a program to help feed healthcare providers on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Austin, Texas inspired restaurant known for its brisket, homestyle tortillas and smoky queso announced that they would be starting a program called HomeState for Hospitals to distribute their popular menu items to employees at Los Angeles’ Kaiser Permanente, Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, and the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.

HomeState is also taking suggestions from their customers on other medical facilities to include in the program. The restaurant released a statement.

“Throughout these past several weeks we have been wrapping our heads around how we can continue operating safely while supporting our community. We have also been considering ways we can provide more focused help to the brave people at the frontline of this fight against Covid-19: namely, our healthcare workers and first responders. Unsurprisingly, many of our wonderful guests have been thinking along similar lines, and several have reached out to get food to local hospitals. Their generosity has inspired us to launch a broader program that will enable us to partner with any and all of our guests who want to support.”

HomeState is welcoming patrons and the Southern California community to contribute to the cause by donating $10 or more. A $10 contribution feeds one person a full meal and covers the cost of the delivery by HomeState staff.

It’s nice to know that HomeState is continuing the tradition of southern hospitality in Southern California. For more information or to contribute, visit their website by clicking HERE.
