Shaquille O’Neal’s Holiday Alter Ego Shaq-A-Claus To Bring Presents To 800 Atlanta Children

For the 19th year in a row, Shaquille O’Neal will be bringing holiday cheer and gifts to a lucky 800 students. Shaq-A-Claus, the nickname given to the NBA Hall of Famer during this time of year, plans on visiting the Henry County Schools Learning and Support Center in Atlanta on Wednesday, Dec. 16.

“Every year, a lot of families struggle to provide for their children at the holidays,” O’Neal said. “Because of the pandemic, it could be a lean Christmas for a lot of kids. Once again, I’m grateful for my business partners this year, who have stepped up and have been incredibly generous to the school children of McDonough. I encourage everyone to reach out to the folks in your community who need help, do what you can and spread some holiday cheer.”

Shaq-A-Claus has been delivering tens of thousands of toys, clothing, meals and more to underprivileged kids all around the country for the last 18 years. The former Los Angeles Laker has made stops in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New Jersey and Boston. This year’s Atlanta trip will mark the 19th year.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the gifts will be given away using a drive-through, which will include a live DJ. Presents from Shaq-A-Claus will include gift cards, headphones, backpacks, jackets, plush dolls, play sets, toy trucks, games, and beverages.

Sponsors of the event include Tonka, Pepsi, JC Penney’s and the Kids in Need Foundation.

The event, located at 166 Holly Smith Drive, McDonough, Georgia 30253, is expected to start at 5:30 p.m.
