Producers Of ‘Get Out’ And ‘Parasite’ Present Psychological Horror Pic ‘It Lives Inside’ [Trailer]

From the producers of Get Out and Parasite comes the horror film It Lives Inside.  The feature film had its world premiere during the Midnighters section at the 2023 SXSW Film Festival in March, taking home the Audience Award for the evening.

Written by Dutta based on a story from Ashish Mehta, It Lives Inside follows Sam, an Indian-American teenager who lives a pleasant life in suburbia until a rift with her best friend Tamira, who carries a mysterious mason jar everywhere she goes, causes her to do the unthinkable.  Sam breaks the jar unleashing an ancient demonic entity known as the pisach that takes Tamira and leads Sam down a deadly rabbit hole of really spooky occurrences.

Bishal Dutta directs the pic, starring Megan Suri (Missing), Neeru Bajwa (Criminal), Mohana Krishnan (I Am Frankie), Betty Gabriel (Get Out), and Vik Sahay (Captain Marvel).

Aside from the usual aspects of what makes a great film, horror pics specifically benefit from the added intensity of music, sound, and editing.  Music composer Wesley Hughes, sound designer Nolan McNaughton, and film editor Jack Price provided these important elements to the production. Cinematography is done by Matthew Lynn.

Executive producers include Edward H. Hamm Jr., Jameson Parker, Arielle Boisvert, and Shawn Williamson.  Production houses overseeing the film include QC Entertainment and Brightlight Pictures.  Neon manages theatrical distribution in the U.S.

It Lives Inside is scheduled to be released Nov. 3, 2023 in Turkey, but an official U.S. release date has yet to be announced.  At the time of this writing, the official trailer racked up 4.2 million views clearly indicating a demand for the award-winning horror film.
