Kanye West’s $55 Sunday Service Brunch Disappoints, Claims It’s Caterer’s Fault

There’s nothing like building up an appetite in church, then following a long sermon with a good, fulfilling meal. Well, it didn’t pan out that way for attendees of Kanye West’s successful Sunday Service.

Disappointed worshippers took to social media after they were served a very emaciated breakfast. Lauryn’s Fine Catering served patrons a skimpy breakfast that included pancakes, two crispy bacons, one undercooked sausage and grits. Perhaps, there would be more gratefulness if the meal didn’t cost $55.

Both the church and West’s Sunday Service team have made it known that they had nothing to do with the catering and place all responsibility on the catering company. However, this would suggest that the catering company hired itself and took it upon itself to charge patrons.

People took to Instagram to discuss the embarrassing attempt at breakfast.

“LMAO. I don’t know what kind of spell Kanye has on you guys. Hopefully, you guys snap out of it one day. #Brunchella”

West’s Sunday Service took place at Bethany Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, which makes the breakfast even more thoughtless.

Baton Rouge is known for its creole and cajun-style food, with influences from French, Black and Latin culture. There’s no way that the catering should have been so lackluster.

If anything, there could’ve been some coush-coush, shrimp and grits, potato pecan waffles, beignets, andouille sausage omelets, and biscuits with sausage gravy. At least respect the South and the cultural distinctions of the regions that the Sunday Service is held.

The person responsible for the infamous photo showing the breakfast tweeted, “This is the wonderful & cold brunch buffet we are being served.. the server looked at me crazy when I asked for another pancake…I opted out of a small scoop of cold grits.”

This is definitely not a good representation of “southern Christian values”, where religious Black folks are known to have a good fish fry or crawfish boil. While it may be a craze in the West, where Kanye West resides, to eat very clean and skimpy, the South doesn’t play with their food.
