Joie Chavis’ Daughter Shai Shines In Mother’s Healthy Lifestyle Docu-Series

Fitness and food guru Joie Chavis entered the new year with the mission to lose some of that COVID-19 weight that some of uss have been unfortunate to gain.

The doting mother of two released a new series on her YouTube channel Joie In Life called “Journey to Lose Weight,” where she shares her 2021 fitness and diet routine with viewers. Currently in week two, Chavis has already lost 8 pounds by implementing a consistent workout schedule and a very clean diet.

“I actually managed to lose 8 pounds in 14 days!” Chavis wrote in a statement on her channel. “I started at 155 and ended at 147. Although some of it seemed to be water retention, I’m happy either way. I got back to eating really clean, eliminating gluten, dairy, fried food, and started drinking close to, if not a gallon of water a day.”

Chavis incorporates cardio at least 3-4 times a week, which consists of doing stairs, walks and jogging. She also has a fun resistance workout that includes body and band resistance exercises and in-home weightlifting. To recover, she gets deep tissue massages and spends off time with her son and daughter, Hendrix and Shai.

“I feel amazing,” Chavis said. “Don’t get me wrong I will still have my days where i eat the things that I love, but in moderation. Overall my skin fells and looks better, i have more energy in the morning again, and I’m back in routine. It’s hard to stay consistent sometimes but always remembering mind over matter.”

At the 11 minute mark of the 17-minute video a very cute and telling moment occurred when her daughter Shai playfully sung out a tune of the song “Happy Birthday” — for a moment it was a vibe. Shai not only steals the show with her funny commentary and input, but it appears she’s equipped to be a star of her own.

In recent weeks, it was announced that Shai, whose father is rapper-actor-entrepreneur Shad “Bow Wow” Moss, booked her first acting job with the help of her manager Shanelle Gray and agency A3 Artists Agency.

“Booked my first job you guys,” Shai posted on Instagram. “I can’t talk about it much but I am SO excited! Thank you to my agent @a3artistsagency and manager @shanellegray. 2021 is gonna be amazing!!”

With her confidence and enjoyable personality, the pretty little diva may also have a future music career on the horizon.
