Joe Budden sure has been in the headlines lately. From his recent announcement about leaving Spotify to leaked calls between him and his former fiancée Cyn Santana, Joe is being tested on all sides.
The pressure is heavy as the entrepreneur has been accused of being a serial abuser of women and of….dogs. It’s a very apparent retaliation tactic, but that’s none of our business! The podcaster had a lot to say about the public allegations.
“Here I am to speak for myself,” Joe said on Instagram Live. “This comes off two weeks of me exposing some truths about different corporations, Spotify, iHeart. I won’t say that this is a calculated smear campaign because I don’t think it’s that calculated.”
Joe summed up the leaked calls between him and Cyn to the mother of his child’s ongoing spat with bitter, former friend, Raqi Thunda, who he alleges had a hidden agenda. He stated that he was simply caught up in the “turbulence” of being intertwined in a beef that he says has nothing to do with him.
Joe also addressed the hearsay regarding his relationship with his ex and Love And Hip Hop New York reality star Tahiry Jose.
“This young lady is a liar, a cancerous, toxic liar,” he said. “I’m uncertain why she’s lying this way or if she’s misspeaking or if she has a false recollection of things — We were toxic to each other.”
He claimed that Tahiry was abusive and “kicked his a**.” He also claimed that he was not the one who broke her nose, but it was broken by someone else. However, during her interview with Hollywood Unlocked, she made it seem that Joe was the cause of her broken nose. She also claims that Joe allegedly was mentally, verbally and physically abusive to her.
“I never really talked about none of this because how do you heal with all this noise?” Tahiry said in the interview. “I’ve been beaten before. That relationship left me with a fractured rib, a broken nose because somebody was sending him a message.”
She went on to say that he allegedly pushed her down a flight of stairs and dragged her from her ankle.
Before Joe started his own podcast and before Tahiry ended up on Marriage Bootcamp, the former couple had a YouTube channel where they would document their relationship together.
The home videos became so popular that it eventually helped the two land a deal with Monami’s VH1 reality TV show Love And Hip Hop New York. But, the glamorous life was short-lived as the couple started to show cracks in their foundation. Eventually, Joe and Tahiry went their separate ways.
Throughout the years, they would reunite, and it was recorded. In one particular video, Joe and Tahiry had a volatile conversation about whether Joe should court her again after the mistreatment she allegedly endured from him in the past. In the video, she talks about Joe not willing to do the small things, such as take out the trash or take her to a nice restaurant. She claims his go to food choice was always pizza.
Tahiry’s advice to men who have issues with controlling their emotions, she recommends therapy. “It comes from home, walking away,” she said. “No man should put his hands on a woman.”
