Former ESPN Exec Patricia Mays Nabs Executive Editor Of News Role At The Hollywood Reporter

The Hollywood Reporter (THR) has recruited entertainment industry vet Patricia Mays as the company’s new Executive Editor of News. In her new role, beginning August 16th, she will oversee digital content strategy and staff.

“Patricia is a dynamic leader who will be an incredible asset to an already stellar newsroom, one known for breaking news, investigative journalism, revealing features and eye-catching visuals,” said Nekesa Mumbi Moody, THR’s editorial director. “Patricia’s expertise in digital and proven track record coupled with her ability to produce unique, compelling journalism across multiple mediums, will allow THR to  further distinguish itself as the leader in entertainment and industry news.”

Mays broke into the industry working at the Associated Press as a sports editor assistant and later worked at The Press-Enterprise as sports editor. In 2009, she would join ESPN and work her way up to Senior Coordinating Producer of Multi-Platform Content Strategy overseeing daily news coverage across news and digital platforms, and SportsCenter.
