Florida Artist Makes Meticulous Tribute To Kobe Bryant Using 5,292 Dice And Some Oil

A Fort Lauderdale, Florida artist made a touching and meticulous tribute to the late NBA Star Kobe Bryant.

The woman, who goes by BarbaraLynnHelman on Instagram, used a total of 5,292 dice and oil to create a 40×30 portrait of the former Lakers player.

The IG post shows her placing the last dice in the center of the portrait and then zooming the camera out to reveal a jaw-dropping image of Bryant.

The artist left the post with one of Bryant’s quotes saying, “We can always be average and just do what’s normal. I’m not in this to do what’s normal.”

Proceeds from donations will go to the Mamba On Three Fund, where the families of the victims who died in the helicopter crash, along with Kobe and Gianna Bryant on Jan. 26, will benefit.

The artist has also made a portrait of Tupac Shakur using the same method. For Shakur, she used 3,701 dice, oil and Swarovski crystals.
