Doja Cat Renege On Promise To Show Boobs As Her Song “Say So” Reaches No. 1

Rising star Doja Cat has much to celebrate. The remix of her song “Say So” featuring Nicki Minaj is now No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

This is the first No. 1 on the Hot 100 for both Doja Cat and surprisingly Nicki Minaj, who has been on the chart 109 times before scoring the coveted spot. Minaj almost reached No. 1 with her single “Anaconda”, but it plateaued at No. 2.

“Say So” flew to No. 1 from the No. 6 spot and some attribute the success of the single to Doja Cat promising her fans that she would flash her breasts if her song went No. 1.

Well, the rapping singer reneged shortly after the song’s success, going on Instagram to tell her fans they “got played”.

“I’m f*cking ruthless,” she said on IG live. “If I say I’m going to show boobs, just know I’m not going to show boobs. And I’m ok with you guys thinking from now on when I try to use that trick, which I won’t, if I do, just know motherf*ckers I’m not being serious.”

Many of the male fanfare felt betrayed by her admittance, while the ladies applauded her scheme and found it funny.

While people with sense know that the single hit no. 1 because of Minaj’s contribution. It’s still appalling that gimmicks are needed to get ahead.

How far have we really come if the exploitation of a woman’s body is the only way to get recognition? An even better question, how far have we come when women are now the one’s placing these subpar standards on themselves?

In spite of the twisted messaging, Doja Cat, who is a breath of fresh air for music listeners wanting something different than the usual suspects, got her No. 1 hit.

Houston’s Finest, Megan Thee Stallion and Beyoncé, follow “Say So” landing at the No. 2 spot with the “Savage” remix. Sources report that this is the first time that two female rappers have occupied the No. 1 and No. 2 spots on the Billboard Hot 100 at the same time.
