Controversial Gaming YouTuber PewDiePie Is Done With YouTube In 2020

Controversial gaming YouTuber PewDiePie announced that he is taking a break from YouTube in 2020.

Born Felix Kjellberg, he released a statement via video on YouTube.

“I am taking a break from YouTube next year,” he said. “I wanted to say it in advance because I made up my mind. I’m tired. I’m feeling very tired. I don’t know if you can tell. I’ll be away for a little while. I’ll explain that later, but I wanted to give a heads up.”

The 30-year-old became popular from his snarky commentary about video games. He currently has 102 million subscribers and amasses millions of views on his videos. Through his channel, Kjellberg has managed to accumulate revenue from his advertising and sponsorship deals.

In recent times, Kjellberg has been accused of saying racist and anti-semitic remarks. The controversy caused major sponsors to pull back, including Disney, after the Swedish insta-star allegedly paid people to hold “Death to all Jews” in one of his videos.

The vlogger adamantly denies being racist and has apologized for offending his viewers.
