Chanel West Coast Turns Over A New Leaf, Leaving ‘Ridiculousness’ After 30 Seasons

Chanel West Coast, the TV personality known for her contagious laugh, has inked a deal with Paramount Media Networks to bring more unscripted and scripted series to MTV.  The former Young Money recording artist will also end her co-hosting duties in the long-running video clip TV series Ridiculousness, starring frontman Rob Dyrdek and co-host Sterling Brim, better known as Steelo.

“I’m sad to say goodbye to the show but very excited to announce my next big venture with MTVE/Paramount,” Chanel said in a statement.  “It’s time for me to step off the red couch and step into the role of executive producer.”

The fairly new mother spent 30 seasons hosting Ridiculousness, while simultaneously releasing several mixtapes and singles.  She appeared on the animated show Wild Grinders, reality TV series Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood, and talk show Jason Lee’s Hollywood Unlocked.

Among her credits, her appearance on Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory is what catapulted fans’ awareness about Chanel.  Since her ascension in Hollywood, she has created multiple brands, including Coasty Swim, an eco-friendly swimwear brand, and has accumulated over 3.6 million followers on Instagram.

“I plan to bring some of my wildest ideas and dreams to life through amazing film & television projects, build my teams, and work with other creatives paving the way on the screen,” she continued.  “I’m also very excited for the world to see me beyond ‘the laugh’ and for once, see the real me.”
