Cast Of ‘Lovecraft Country’ Holds Zoom Panel For ‘Comic-Con At Home’, Shows Exclusive Sneak Peek

The cast of HBO series Lovecraft Country joined together on an online panel to discuss one of the most anticipated shows of the summer. The panel was a part of the first virtual Comic-Con in history, dubbed Comic-Con At Home. The event usually takes place in San Diego, CA, but was moved online due to COVID-19 statewide orders.

The panel consisted of the main cast members, including Jurnee Smollett, Courtney B. Vance, Michael Kenneth Williams, Jonathan Majors, Aunjanue Ellis, Abbey Lee and Wunmi Mosaku. They discussed everything from getting along on the set to the historic context of the series and how it relates to today’s race relations and political climate.

Based on the Matt Ruff novel of the same name, Lovecraft Country chronicles the journey of three black people, Atticus Freeman (Jonathan Majors), Letitia (Jurnee Smollett) and Uncle George (Courtney B. Vance), as they embark on a search for Atticus’ father who holds essential information. The era takes place during the 1950s when blatant segregation laws existed.
